Zafirah discoverd Middle Eastern Dance with Montreal artist, Maya. since the first class she knew that this ancient art was her true passion and so began an intensive formation with several internationnaly knows teachers; Hadia, Aziza and Chérizar were and are her principal teachers and inspiration. Zafirah also did several workshops with Chanty, Samia, Jalilah, Aziza, Selma Yildiz, Gina, Myra, Sarah Saeed, Orit and Leila Sukara. In 2006 she did an Intensive three-week workshop in Turkey with Middle Eastern and Roman Dance master teacher. In 2007 she began a professional and teacher training course with Hadia, Aziza and Chérizar. In that same year Zafirah won second place in the Professional 1 Category at the AQDO (Association de Danse Orientale du Québec) competition. In 2008 she won two first place awards at the Danse Orientale et ses Fusions competition in the professional and fusion categories. She also was one of the few guest artist for Combination Nation Vol.1 dvd and By dancers for Dancers, produced by Michelle Joyce. In November, 2009, she took away the 3rd place in  folklore category at the  BellyDancer of the World internationnal competition organized by Leyla Jouvana.  Zafirah, with her energy, charisma and authenticity, charms viewer's hearts!
